I dont use tiktok nor do I ever plan on getting it but the tiktok goth and alt punk etc. people are often just very toxic, I dont like what its doing to the actual alternative community
not denying the fact 50 percent of them dont even listen to goth music or whatever other music genres they claim to be apart of
but I guess not all of it is bad
but Ive seen far too much just from the compilations on youtube
even the ones that do listen to the music as well I tend to dislike as well.

it literally just depresses me.
I feel none of these people understand what being a goth even is REALLY
to me a lot of them are pretty much normies or basic trendy kids wearing these styles just to be hip
and even if they know the music I dont think they even care about it.

Well.....that's just people for you and let's face it, the Goth community is made up of....people. In general I feel like the majority of people today care way too much about very little. Also so many people tend to have soaring ego's that clash with others. I try my best not to react, respond or pay any attention to these people. Life's just too short for that. I'm lucky in that though the Goth community where I live may be small they're mostly pretty well chilled.

That sux and must make things a lot harder for you. Sorry to hear that, mate. The irony is it's my more normal online community (FB) where I get more of a negative reaction from people. I just try to block that stuff out.

I stay away from tik tok. I’ve seen a lot of shit on teh interwebz, but nothing has ever made me feel like I’m actually going to lose brain cells like tik tok.

I don't pay any attention to social media. These people are just creating content to get views. What is going on in the clubs is far removed from what I see online. It is sad that you don't have a local scene but there are many online goth events at the moment with djs from around the world.

That's right! I hear a lot of negative stuff about Goth's and it's all online but the people I meet at Goth events are totally different to what I hear.

When i very first joined places like this the webs wasnt as big as it is these days. Infact i joined VF to keep tabs on some of my favorite bands and to explore others. Now I just go to Metropolis.com to know when new music is being released along with tour dates. Its too bad some platforms got cluttered with a bunch of ass burgers who dont know shit about music.

I joined VF in 2008 but barely had any interaction. Which was my fault because I wasn't on there on a regular basis. Always regret that.

I like it. I'm on here every day, I find it easy to upload my photo's and pictures. I enjoy the Topics, reading what people think and....I've noticed I feel more comfortable saying what's on my mind here than with FB. 😃 I just wish people were more sociable though, apart from responding to comments on Topics I don't hear a peep. 😒
