It has been brought to the attention of the GoneGothic.com Administration Team that many of the site's underage users are displaying photos of themselves in immodest clothing.

Though the photos of scantily-dressed users do not violate the Terms of Service, the Administration Team feels that all users should be warned of the dangers of posting photos in near-nudity. GoneGothic.com, being a public site, cannot guarantee the safety of its users' photos. Anyone using the site, including sexual predators, can access anyone else's profile, galleries, blogs, artwork, and poetry.

The Administration Team would like to warn the users of GoneGothic.com of the possible danger of posting provocative and immodest photos in their public galleries. This is the only warning users will receive.

Hey guys, got some more updates for you.

* Improved search functionality, including the forums.
* More space within gallery
* Invites. Get points for inviting friends, more points if they become pretty active in the site and even more points if they buy premium. Any suggests for what you'd like to swap those points for ?

For anyone who doesn't know what a dashboard is, it's essentially a personalised homepage for when you're logged in that lists lots of stuff that's important to you. Like your friends updates, or any posts on a forum thread that you're interested in etc.

Update:

A further update to this weeks news, due to personal resons our moderator Disaster has left the admin team; we are sad to see her go but are thankful for all she has done for the site.
Please welcome Grimm who has taken her place as forum moderator.

Here is a continuation of last weeks post, just to give you a brief idea of what our future plans for the new site are.

• Private Messages:- Threaded private conversations that will not be deleted after 60 days.
• Comment Expiration:- Comments will no longer expire after 30 - 60 days as they do now. This goes for comments on profiles, pictures etc. They will be stored until you delete them
• Member dashboard:- Showing actions that have taken place since your last visit, friend related information.
• Buddy System:- This will now require the approval of the member your trying to become friends with.

We hope you'll like these upcoming features, and make the most of them when they arrive!

As last weeks post pointed out this post will outline a few of the new features as well as features being removed from the new site that is currently being worked on by Dav and Kieran.

Feature being removed from the new site:

• Enemies:- This feature is underused and doesnt really pose any value to the site
• Ratings:- The rating system will be going, in place of a reputation system. Members will be able to gain/lose reputation for contributions / involvement within the community More on this at a later date.
• Poetry & Artwork:- Poetry and artwork will be merged into a creativity feed along with some other new stuff

New feature additions:

• VIP Accounts:- These accounts will be gifted to users who contribute to the community in a variety of ways, including submitting high quality site/profile themes, articles, interviews and more.
• Site Themes:- An area for user submitted and admin approved themes. Themes can be applied easily and will change the look of the entire site.
• Profile Themes:- Similar to site themes, but will only change the look of your profile

On a final note we would also like to congratulate 2 couples from our community who recently got engaged.

Congratulations to both Zakk and CeCe and also to Ashley and Monique. Best wishes for the future to both couples on behalf of ourselves and the community!

By now you're all probably aware there has been a lot of discontent in the forums over the sites TOS and forum rules. If members who feel these rules / terms are too strict could suggest what they feel is reasonable then we'll take this into consideration.

Obviously a lot of members are becoming frustrated over the lack of news / updates to the site, whilst I understand your frustration, I can only offer my word that the new site is under construction and that an alpha version of this site will be available to a few selected members to test, in around a month from now. The alpha will receive regular updates as time rolls on and will offer a better understanding of the direction of the new site.

We appreciate that the lack of updates is a mistake on our part, and we would like to assure you that we will post at least one news update per week with regards to the progress of the new site. The next post will list which features will be removed and some of the new features that will be added to the new site.

I'd also like to add that Kaela and the admins are really appreciated and would like to request that members refrain from personally abusing any member of the admin team as this getting us nowhere and is causing more heated discussions that provide no solutions.
