I'm liking the suggestions you posted! Some of them are sort of implemented already, some of them are to be introduced in the site update.

ok as you may well know we already have a few of these banners but so far only one has been contributed to us thanks to dj_bludston. please take a look at the support page.
banners may be up to 468 x 90 pixels.
any banners that seem apropriate and are not violating any copyright laws will be added to the support page along with the name of the contributor and the name(s) of anyone featured in the banner.
