The following is taken from various posts in a HTML help topic originally posted by Kate (razberry2k). I saved all the code from the posts when i realized her profile would be autodeleted. - Jamie & Kat

ok there are quite a few people around the forums who don't know how to put up pics or make links etc so here goes. (i've also added in html you might want for profiles)

if you see someone that has done the thing you want to do (eg post a link) in the forums and you don't know how to do it. just quote them and it'll give you the code that they used.

all ( and ) to be replaced by the arrowy brackets above , and .

Posting a pic
(img src="URL HERE")

Posting a pic with a set width
(img src="URL HERE" width="500")

will show the picture with the width set at 500 pixels wide.

this is handy when posting large pics so that the picture doesn't go off the side of the page.

note that the picture height will automatically be scaled to size.

Posting a link
(a href="URL HERE")Click here(/a)

Posting a link that opens in a new window
(a href="URL HERE" target="_blank")Click here(/a)

Changing font size
(font size="1")text(/font)
(font size="2")text(/font)
(font size="3")text(/font)
(font size="4")text(/font)
(font size="5")text(/font)
(font size="6")text(/font)
(font size="7")text(/font)
(big)text(/big)

Changing font colour
(font color="red")text(/font)
(font color="turquoise")text(/font)
(font color="blue")text(/font)
(font color="purple")text(/font)
(font color="yellow")text(/font)
(font color="green")text(/font)
(font color="pink")text(/font)
(font color="white")text(/font)
(font color="black")text(/font)(i didn't do this colour for obvious reasons)
(font color="orange")text(/font)
(font color="brown")text(/font)
(font color="burgundy")text(/font)

i didn't bother checking all the colours out but im sure you can test them yourselves

Highlighing text
(aka background colour)
(font style="background-color:red")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:turquoise")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:blue")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:purple")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:yellow")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:green")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:pink")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:white")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:black")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:orange")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:brown")text(/font)
(font style="background-color:burgundy")text(/font)

Marquees
(marquee)text(/marquee)
(marquee width="200")text(/marquee)
play around with the width size to get it to the right length.

Bold
(b)text(/b)

Underlined
(u)text(/u)

Italics
(i)text(/i)

Center
(div align="center")
text
(/div)

Left
(div align="left")
text
(/div)

Right
(div align="right")
text
(/div)

Mixing codes
all the codes can be mixed together to create a specific effect

(div align="center")(font size="7")(font color="green")(font style="background color:blue")(marquee width="300")(b)(u)(i)

text

(/i)(/u)(/b)(/marquee)(/font)(/font)(/font)(/div)

or you can do the following instead, to save on the amount of code you need, as they are all font attributes:

(div align="center")(font size="7" color="green" style="background color:blue")(marquee width="300")(b)(u)(i)

(/i)(/u)(/b)(/marquee)(/font)(/div)

which produces this:

text

to wrap text around images:

(img src="URL" align="left")PUT TEXT HERE

gives you this:

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

if you want to break some of the text up and start again under the picture, use (br clear="all") in the middle of the text:

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Use (align="right") to put it at the right hand side:

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

if you want to put two images next to each other, it will put them next to each other along the bottom of the pics:

to align them both at the top, use (align="top") in the first image:

to create a scroll box, you need the following code:

(div style="width:170; height:200; align:left; overflow:auto;")PUT TEXT HERE(/div)

this will create a box on the screen with the text inside it aligned to the left of the box (using align:left;), with a width of 170 pixels and a height of 200 pixels.

the 'overflow:auto;' code is so that the text will wrap to the next line when it goes over the right hand edge of the box.

PUT TEXT HERE

note there is no scroll bar until there is enough text in the box to need one:

blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle blah blah waffle waffle

to put a picture in the background of the box, use: background: url('PUT URL HERE') no-repeat;

so the following code:

(div style="width:170; height:200; align:left; overflow:auto; background: url('http://static.gonegothic.com/user_images/s/sunspots/1206475574.jpg') no-repeat;")PUT TEXT HERE(/div)

creates this:

PUT TEXT HERE

also, if you really want to know how to do something for your profile or something, i suggest google it. you should get an easy copy and paste code in google somewhere.

As geeky as I am, I only know a little HTML. No javascripting, php or any other language. :/

I only messed with BASIC some. Have coded some batch scripts/shell scripts but very elementary code at that.

I wouldn't mind learning languages if it didn't make my head turn to mush.

Mainly would like to know Python, C/C++... who knows what else I might take up.

Programming hurts my head. I can recompile my kernel. I can make mail servers and dns and subnets and interweb tubes ... but programming hurts my head.

I used to hand code batch files for windows updates for work. Too much work.

Take some geek points I got many more.

You're like the retarded geeks cousin........... You dont even know BASIC............ for fuck sake Nick..... Even I know basic LOL

I know how BASIC works.

IF THEN statements and such, never got into it much. Never said I didn't know how code functions. I just never took time to make entire games out of it.

but really, that's all bollocks anyway. People should learn how to use CSS, and forget all that non-valid code.
