Not read it. But i have seen the 1928 movie. Honestly it was both poetic but kinda depressing too. But atleast the ending left me happy.
I am not a superhero comic fan. But the Joker from Batman, character inspiration is said to be based on the actor from the 1928 movie "Conrad Veidt"

But the story deals with a guy who, well to put it as little graphic as i can "mouth chins cut", so he has a static face that looks like he is constantly laughing. Kinda like Grumpy Cat but not as endearing, its more of a tragedy in a sense.

But it does end on a powerful note. So i found it very good. Just curious if you have seen it or read the story, and what you thought about it?

I watched that movie while I was at work on a Sunday.

Unfortunately it gets labelled as a Horror because of the look on the main character.

Funny enough, it was the Rob Zombie song that drew me to watch the film.

And yeah, there's an obvious inspiration for the Bat Man villain, The Joker.
