Wow! What's a Fireworks battle? Sounds awesome! When I was a kid you used to be able to buy fireworks at certain times of the year and let them off (NYE and Queans Birthday) but because too many idiots were being wreck-less they banned them. But we get public display at Australia Day and Skyfire. Not NYE though....we're so boring that the best we can do is gather at the City Square and watch the Sydney NYE fireworks on a big screen. To think I live in the nations capital. *sigh* : - (

I used to love Baby Bloomers/Jumping Jacks. The local corner shop would see them to us and I was in Primary school. wow Now we don't even have many corner shops left and no fire works.
Throw Downs were fun too.

I got bored of fireworks at the end of my teen years. I’ve never bought any but there’s no way I’m spending money on something that barely lasts a minute.

Was driving to my mates place and some people in his neighbourhood decide to start letting fireworks off early. I saw a poor dog on the road running right towards me. Luckily I stopped in time and it ran off the road into the nature strip. I totally understand why people can't set them off in their back yards anymore. 😢

Back in the day I remember a toyshop in Fyshwick (industrial suburb) where they had a section up the back that sold fireworks. But you had to have a permit. Around the Queans Birthday Weekend they'd have pop-up shops that would sell them.

To be honest I don't really miss it much and totally understand why they don't let any old Joe-Blow the Bogan to buy them.

I just increasingly (over the years) have certainly noticed that Too Many Idiots Maliciously Use Them To Cause Terroristic Harm.

The Boston Bombers, for example.....
