I was in the Army Reserves for 4yrs. I got photo's from Basic Recruit Training, Certificates, Army buddies on FB and still got some of the gear. BUT someone who thinks like a Conspiracy theorist can easily claim;

"No you weren't, those photos were staged, the certificates are fake, your Army buddies on FB are fake profiles with paid actors to respond to any messages, the gear is from a disposal store..."

I could defend against but they will always come up with little counter points.

I feel like the mode of thinking behind it is;

'I'm so smart and intelligent, only I know the truth, everyone else is a fool because I'm so special.'

*sigh* Ya' can't win. : - (

Lol, I stopped being civil ages ago to those guys.

Ive always been sort of critical towards how the goth scene have been gatekeeping against fascists and racists in the sense that IDK wether that would be a good solution. Im still fence sitting, but I think I understand why a lot better after years and years of debating with die hard conspiracy theorists, and plenty of those are also racist and bigots. They tend, with exceptions, not to be succeptible to counter arguments or facts.

I'm not going to be popular to admit to this but I grew up in the wrong environment.

I grew up in a place that is socially conservative. Where people said "it's okay to be different" BUT liking different things was considered wrong. Having a personality makes you an idiot or a psychopath.

Growing up here I missed out on a lot of fun things because they are alternative and I didn't have access to them and no one even knew about these things.

It's effected my relationships (and the reason why there was a lack of). LOL

It's made it very difficult to relate to people and make friends.

I don't have those fond memories of childhood experiences like everyone else does.

I'm grateful to grow up in an environment that's safe but truth is.....I really grew up in a place where I don't fit in.

Karl, I grew up here in Dysfunctionally-Conservativeass Texas.

πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘

Further, in San An-fucking-tonio...which traditionally has been FUUUUUUUCKING HERMETICALLY-BONEHEADED in so many infinite ways; certainly with an endless ocean of Macho Bullshit (whether it comes from Hispanics, Whites, Blacks, Criminals, Police, even Women who unfortunately Evolved as they did BECAUSE of it, yeah).

Being a guy As I Myself Am, it certainly was not easy, but in time, hopefully, at least I maybe Reached Younger Generations with my own progressive social views/culture For A Better Future (because so many of their own racistass, classistass, entitledass Parents/Grandparents/Etc. are simply BEYOND ANY SORT OF NEW LEARNING).....

DevilsFood, though m experience isn't quite the same as your I feel like I can relate. Sorry you had to live through all that.

My place has improved a lot since childhood BUT the different cultures segregate themselves. There's a patriotic song here everyone loves. The lyrics are something like-

'We are one but we are many....'

BUT people don't mix, we don't talk to each other or socialise. We don't bother to learn about each other.

I only know a few words of Mandarin and I talked to a group of ladies from China, they were impressed just because I could speak two words of Mandarin! LOL

I miss how he was and we were in the beginning. Never felt so strongly about anyone until him. It’s sad how charming someone can be only to eventually reveal their true self and seemingly with no shame. I feel silly for tolerating the abuse as long as I did but I’m glad I woke up before it was too late. It’s a lesson that will be much learned from.

That aside.. I hope my (alcoholic) neighbour is okay. I can hear her talking loudly to herself but cannot understand what’s being said. I’d check in on her if I didn’t already know that she’s prone to serious rage when intoxicated.

Being Australian I can't help but feel we have a culture of being boring....I know it sounds harsh but I've grown up with this and can't shake it. We don't seem to do celebrations like they do overseas and when we do it's generally small and very basic.

I suspect it's got something to do with being a former convict colony. I mean you don't set up a place of punishment and have big celebrations for CNY or Halloween. "It's a prison colony, not a place for happy-fun times!"

I totally understand. I figured there's someone out there who feels the same way about where they are.

You hear people complaining about songs like 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' as sounding a bit 'rapey' but why hasn't anyone mentioned the 'pedo' song, 'I'm On Fire' by Bruce Springsteen!? I mean "hey little girl, where's your daddy gone?..." sounds ultra creepy. : - O

Not all Employers are smart-enough to hire The Right People.

Of course, maybe they only hire non-threatening people who are Less Sharp.

I'm thinking I'm not cut out to be a roller derby referee. I've lost a lot of my skate skills, can't remember terminology and last night at training I was totally confused to what was going on.

I think I should be more of a hermit. I don't have the same raport with people like everyone else does. I'm so wildly different that it's nearly impossible for people to relate to me. I feel like that cute but annoying, energetic, affectionate and playful dog that you wish you left on the side of the road on those long country drives....LOL I laugh because if I don't I'll cry. : - D : - (
